Ibagué News: Elderly adult has been abandoned for 125 days in Clínica Nuestra

“Mr. Hernando has been a beloved member of our community, known for his joy and dedication in the Plaza de Bolívar, where he rented strollers so that children could enjoy rides. However, the pandemic severely affected his source of income, leading to an economic crisis and, ultimately, a significant deterioration in his health.”

Since his admission, Hernando has received all the necessary attention: iSurgical interventions, therapeutic support and rehabilitation. But his recovery cannot be complete without a home where he can continue his life with dignity and love. Despite the efforts of Clínica Nuestra to locate his family and find him a safe place, they have not been successful. They have resorted to all possible instances: the Mayor’s Office of Ibagué, the Secretariat of Social Development, the Ombudsman’s Office and the Ombudsman’s Office, without obtaining an effective response.

Time is ticking and Mr. Hernando has spent 125 days in the clinic. The risk of a hospital-acquired infection increases every day. Despite all the support from the Clinic, providing him with toiletries, clothing, and social and psychological support, his spirit has been affected. Hernando is tired, emotionally depressed, and suffers from depression. He has tearfully expressed his wish to be relocated to a home where he can feel safe and loved.

“We call for the solidarity of our community and to the relevant authorities. Mr. Hernando needs and deserves a place where he can live with dignity.”

Your support can make a difference! Clínica Nuestra Ibagué, always working for your well-being!
