Awakening vocations and promoting youth employability through video games and electronic sports (Esports). This is the objective of Game You!, the tool that was presented yesterday at the Espacio Lagares in Logroño. It is a two-year cooperation project at European level, funded under the Erasmus+ programme of the EU Commission.
Taking advantage of the success of video games among young people, “GAME YOU!” offers tools to help guide and advise professionals in the fields of education and career guidance. In a context where young people face a multitude of stimuli and opportunities, this tool seeks to guide them in their professional future.
The main objective of the project is that the materials created serve as a guide for the identification of professional skills and help young people understand what skills are needed in different fields of work. This is possible thanks to a manual for professionals, workshops based on non-formal education towards employability and an interactive tool for young people that allows them to identify their potential in the world of work and how to improve it through the synergy between recreational, didactic and video game pedagogies.
The organisations that have developed the project, with the financial support of the EU and under the coordination of Capacitanes, are: Neo Sapiens (Spain), Polygonal (Italy), RATO Association for Cultural and Scientific Promotion (Portugal) and the Slovenian Esports Federation (Slovenia).
