The Colombian Association of Truck Drivers, Nariño section, confirmed in the last few hours that it is declaring itself in a permanent assembly, in the face of several disagreements that hit the sector in the south of the country.
There are a total of six points raised, which have to do with the price of fuel, the lack of security on the roads, the poor condition of the roads, the lack of guarantees for their maintenance and the possibility of a new toll being charged on the Rumichaca-Pasto route, without the work being fully completed..

The union leader strongly criticized the head of the transport portfolio, William Camargo, whom he described as irresponsible with the department of Nariño for trying to start collecting tolls in the El Contadero sector without the dual carriageway having been completed.
He added that the security situation for transporters on the roads is very complex and that there is great uncertainty regarding the maintenance and completion of infrastructure works in several regions through which they travel.
Likewise, he made a harsh call to the governor of Nariño, Luis Alfonso Escobar, in the face of the Government’s failures and the constant blockades in Cauca, in the face of which, the president said, he has remained silent.
