In a simultaneous mega-operation that began at 4:30 in the morning this Friday, 46 raids are being carried out in Tucumán. This action is part of an investigation initiated in the province of Córdoba by prosecutor Iván Rodríguez, who is investigating a gang made up of people from Tucumán and Córdoba allegedly involved in bank leaks and robberies in different parts of Córdoba.

According to preliminary reports, this Tucumán gang operated jointly with criminals from Córdoba, committing crimes mainly in Córdoba but its main base would be Tucumán.

The operation also coincides with others that are also being carried out in Córdoba.

That is why the provincial security minister, Juan Pablo Quinteros, is currently in Tucumán together with his counterpart from Tucumán, Eugenio Agüero Gamboa. In addition to prosecutor Rodríguez, prosecutor Tomás Robert, from the province of Tucumán, is also present.

Of the 46 raids carried out so far, 44 have taken place in the capital of Tucumán and around twenty in the south of the province of Córdoba. According to the preliminary data available so far, four people have been arrested and weapons and vehicles have been seized. Drugs have also been confiscated in quantities exceeding those for personal consumption.

“Glass breaker”

The gang known as Glass Breaker was detected by an investigation by the Scientific Fiscal Investigation Team (ECIF), of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Córdoba, who requested collaboration from Tucumán officials for their identification, since they operated from there.

Starting in March of this year, members of the Criminal Analysis Directorate of the ECIF dedicated themselves to trying to identify individuals suspected of committing bank leaks in Córdoba.

The investigative advances were so effective that it was possible to establish that eleven subjects from Tucumán traveled to Córdoba to commit crimes against property.

In this context, raids were coordinated and the arrest of four “glass breakers” was possible: Cristian Roberto Ale, Pablo Toledo, Enzo Daniel Jerez and Hernán Alexis Ortiz (a fifth member was arrested last Sunday).

Also seized was a Bersa Thunder 4 9mm caliber pistol with the serial number removed, another 22 caliber short weapon and 9 rounds of ammunition, three cars: a Peugeot 2008, a Ford Focus and a Toyota Corolla, as well as various documents, headphones, pendrives, hard drives, cell phones, cash, various motorcycle helmets and clothing.

In the next few hours they will be transferred to Córdoba, following a request for a warrant.

According to the investigation, they would be involved in different events with the same modality, all concentrated in the capital of Córdoba, more precisely in the central area. They used vehicles registered in Tucumán and had been operating there since last year.
