Cartagena-Colombia-Noticias625.co 06-28-2024. After a day of paralyzed traffic between the departments of Bolívar and Magdalena, as a result of the protest led by residents of the municipality of Carmen de Bolívar, who decided to close the Carmen de Bolívar-Plato Magdalena road demanding attention to their main needs, the intervention of the governor of Bolívar Yamil Arana and the Presidential Advisor for the Regions, Luz María Múnera, representing the National Government, managed to open that road.

Dialogue and mediation was the key to lifting the blockade on the El Carmen de Bolívar – Plato road, a protest that lasted more than 24 hours and that only ended yesterday Thursday afternoon due to the management of the governor of Bolívar, Yamil Arana Padauí.

The president arranged for the presence of the national government, through the Presidential Advisor for the Regions, Luz María Múnera, who arrived at the protest site to sit at a dialogue table with the demonstrators.

At the request of the president, the parties managed to reach agreements on their historical requests related to roads and other needs.

“The most important thing, to make the announcement to the department and the country, is that we managed to lift the blockade. A community that demands with just cause a solution to historical problems that they have experienced. A community, furthermore, victim of the conflict, with which today we team up, for a new way of living, a new development and a comprehensive transformation of the territory,” said the president.
