The Municipality of Rivadavia, through its Electrical Department, has completed the repair work on Libertador San Martín and Ignacio de la Roza avenues, near the El Zonda racetrack, following the intense gusts of Zonda wind that hit the province prior to the long weekend.

The operation, which took place in two sections on Libertador and Central avenues, included a complete restoration of the area’s power and lighting lines. In total, 27 new 7.5-meter wooden poles, 27 new 0.60 by 2.5-meter jib-type pipe arms, and 700 meters of pre-assembled cable were placed by excavation. These works required a week of work, 50 hours of crane work, and the dedication of specialized technical personnel.

The storm had left the region’s main tourist access in darkness, but thanks to the efforts of the municipal team, the service was quickly restored. Although the maintenance and replacement of luminaires are the department’s usual responsibilities, the management of Mayor Sergio Miodowsky has shown an active commitment to collaborating with the Government of San Juan to restore order and services in the event of emergency events.
