The situation with the presence of bodyguards does not seem to have improved at all and in response to this, the soft drink companies spoke out and Mayor Yahir Acuña Cardales led, together with the Secretariat of Government and Citizen Security, a security meeting with the presence of local managers of the Coca Cola and Postobón companies.

The National Police, Gaula, the Attorney General’s Office, the Ombudsman’s Office and the Marines also participated in the meeting and agreed on the implementation of more effective strategies and an action plan to attack the scourge of extortion and guarantee security in the commercial sector of the capital of Sucre.

In addition, Mayor Yahir Acuña said that it is imperative to continue encouraging the reporting of these crimes by citizens and affected companies “because by doing so they contribute to materializing the judicial processes and guaranteeing the follow-up of each one of them, thus achieving the safe city that the people of Sincelejo deserve.”
