At CIIDEPT, the Ministry of Education together with the National University of Tucumán carried out a presentation of the Educational Offer and Educational Map in Vocational Training, Undergraduate, Graduate and Postgraduate of both institutions to the Productive Development Institute (IDEP).

The event, which is the product of joint work and prior planning between the parties, was attended by the Minister of Education, Susana Montaldo; the academic secretary of the UNT, Carolina Abdala; and the executive director of IDEP, Maximilian Martinez Marquez.

Also present were the Secretary of Education, Gabriela Gallardo; the Undersecretary of Technical Education, Paul Durando; the Director of Technical Education and Vocational Training, Hugo Rodriguez; the director of Youth and Adult Education and Non-Formal Education, Dora Villagra; and the Director of Non-University and Artistic Higher Education, Silvina Fernandez.

“We looked at the offer at a higher level to try to articulate the needs of the productive sector and the educational needs of the different departments of the province in order to be able to train and provide answers and insert themselves into the workforce. We want to articulate in order to be able to offer the province a pertinent offer and one that also has the possibility of a quick change because sometimes one offers a career, but then it becomes saturated in the locality and it is necessary to offer other types of opportunities,” explained the minister.

Along these lines, he added: “There is a commitment between these different areas to work, to analyze the educational offer that we have at the higher and professional technical level and for the training of young people and adults, and to see what the needs of the productive sector are and to be able to give a joint, pertinent and valuable response to society.”

In turn, the Academic Secretary of the UNT, Carolina Abdala, commented: “I want to thank the Minister of Education, Professor Susana Montaldo, for the invitation, who has invited us as the National University of Tucumán to share this space where the Ministry of Education presented its offers, especially those that have to do with the technical area of the secondary and higher level, the offer of vocational training. We were also with the IDEP to have a dialogue table and articulate the training offers with the demands of the provincial labor field. It was a very rich day of work, because not only has we shared what the university has to offer in these areas, but we have found a set of points of common interest for which we are going to continue working.”

Finally, the executive director of IDEP, Maximiliano Martínez Márquez, closed: “We have been summoned by the Ministry of Education to be part of this new space that aims to analyze in depth all the academic offerings that Tucumán has in relation to the productive activities that we have in the province. On the one hand, the central objective is to be able to rethink the entire training process that our students have today, which end up being the most important resource that companies have, which are human resources, how to update the study plans, improve the academic offer , in relation to the different stages of the productive sectors. In that sense, last week from the IDEP we made a presentation to the Education and University authorities, where we explained the current state of the productive sectors of the province, their formation and their training needs and today we received feedback. The objective is to continue working to see how public policies are more efficient for job creation and economic development.”
