Santa Cruz de la Sierra is preparing to welcome one of its most prominent musicians this Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29. Piraí Vaca, the acclaimed Bolivian guitarist, will perform at the Hard Rock Café with his innovative tour called Year Zero.

This concert cycle promises reveal a new facet of the artistwho will perform with two electroacoustic guitars and will use fingerstyle as the predominant technique.

This is the first time in 33 years that I have played two electro-acoustic guitars with metal strings while standing. “No classical guitar with nylon strings while I’m sitting down. The concert

“What excites me most about playing on a stage like this is that in that space the communication patterns between the music I am going to make and the audience are different,” he said enthusiastically.

Although the public is used to seeing him sitting down, playing classical pieces or Bolivian songs in quiet settings, Vaca highlights the change in the dynamics of communication with the public on this tour. The guitarist explained that this new approach is more extroverted, which allows him to move and express himself differently on stage.. “I handle the electroacoustic guitar satisfactorily, playing it standing up, with metal strings and with the picks that I use on four fingers of my right hand. It has been a whole process in which I have had to learn how to use this instrument,” he revealed. This dedication is reflected in the quality and complexity of his performance, which includes the use of electronic effects to create a unique sound experience.
