Six members of the National Police were presented before a guarantee control judge, accused of seize shipments of narcotics that were stored in buildings in Magdalenaespecially in Santa Marta, and then sold to criminal gangs.

Due to these events, authorities began the capture efforts to find the officials involved. in several proceedings carried out in Medellín and Santa Marta.

Those under investigation are mayors Gabriel Ochoa Arias and Arlinzon Córdoba; and patrolmen Eduardo Ochoa Arias, Larry William Berg González, Víctor Alfonso Acevedo Rodríguez and Sammy Joel Palacio Mendoza.

A prosecutor from the Specialized Directorate against Drug Trafficking charged them, according to their possible participation, “the crimes of trademark falsification, illegal use of uniforms and insignia, embezzlement by use, rape in another’s room by a public servant, abuse of authority due to failure to report, abuse of public office, association for the commission of a crime against the public administration, reception ; and carrying weapons for exclusive use of the Armed Forces or explosives,” according to the official statement from the accusing body.

Although the charges were not accepteda guarantee control judge ordered that the six uniformed officers involved must comply measure of security depriving one’s liberty in one’s place of residence.

At the moment, the Prosecutor’s Office did not specify which criminal organizations they sold the stolen drugs to.
