The Conte Grand Cultural Center will be the space where the Pride Festival will be held. June 28 is commemorated worldwide as LGBTIQ+ Pride Day, as a date when the fight for their rights began. This day had its origin in the United States, where the homosexual community in New York was repressed by the city police. Since then, hundreds of people fight every day in favor of diversity, promotion of inclusion and against the discrimination that this sector receives in all social spheres. In San Juan, the Lgbtiq+ community organized a festival where there will be musical shows, dance shows and an entrepreneurs fair.
Starting at 5 pm, the doors of the Conte Grand Cultural Center will be open to those who want to visit the place. Under the motto “pride is ours,” the province will host this artistic and cultural festival. It is organized by the Gender Directorate, dependent on the Ministry of Family and Human Development. It began at 5 pm and will end at 10 pm.
There will be shows, parades, drag queens, dancers and singers who are part of the various Lgbtiq+ associations and groups of San Juan. Admission will be free for those who want to enjoy the various artistic movements.
On the other hand, and simultaneously with the shows, there will be an entrepreneurs’ fair, with representatives from all areas of gender and diversity from the municipalities of San Juan. In addition, there will be a stand run by the Ministry of Health, where an operation will be carried out in conjunction with the Provincial Program in Response to HIV.
The Municipal Gender and Diversity Areas of the Province, Kiki, will participate and accompany the event. SJ, Drag Culture, Kendall, Cielo, Luchi Fuego, Reiven, Leo Cortéz, Shadows Opposition, Luchy Arustizia, Espartanos Dance Group, Bix Boss, Provincial Diversity Council of San Juan, Diversity Table and the Ministry of Health, HIV, Hepatitis and STI Response Program.
