Five suspects were arrested in a series of raids carried out by the Rio Negro Police in the La Grava and El Sauce neighborhoods. The procedures were carried out within the framework of a investigation for aggravated robbery in that town. Firearms, ammunition, clothing, safety helmets and a motorcycle were also seized.
As reported two of them had a history of crimes against property, one had an arrest warrant and the rest were arrested for resisting authority during the procedure.
The relevant Prosecutor’s Office took action on the matter after learning of what had happened, ordering the initiation of the relevant legal proceedings.
The police stressed that the operation could not have been carried out without the collaboration of the Special Rescue Operations Corps (COER) and the staff of the Criminalistics Office, who played a fundamental role in the development of events.
The government also stressed that this police strike once again demonstrates that “the security forces are working tirelessly to guarantee the peace and security of citizens, actively fighting crime and dismantling criminal gangs operating in the region. The quick and effective response of local authorities has been essential for the success of this important mission in the fight against crime.”
