Operation Smile Peru with the support of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints developed training for its volunteers through the workshops: Basic life support, a resource that provides the necessary skills to apply basic life support; and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, which helps improve the quality of care for children with serious illnesses or injuries.

From Thursday, June 20 to Saturday, June 22 at the meeting center of the Church of Jesus Christ in Magdalena, 33 Operation Smile volunteers in the specialties of nursing, dentistry, anesthesiology and pediatrics received training provided by six instructors certified by the American Association of the Heart, an organization that is the highest scientific reference in cardiology in the United States.
The trained volunteers obtained certification that will allow them to act in emergencies that may arise.
Operation Smile Peru thanked the Church of Jesus Christ for its willingness to provide support for the successful completion of these workshops. Wilfredo Vásquez, Nancy Yáñez and six service volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ helped during the meetings.
