To bring the community closer to maritime port activity, Terminal Pacífico Sur Valparaíso (TPS) and public and private organizations in the city, announced the return of the “Know Your Port”. The activity will allow local actors associated with the Barrio Puerto to present their work in detail, in addition to allowing people to visit the TPS facilities and learn more about the sector. Saturday, July 6, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

The initiative will have stands at Muelle Prat and within TPS to welcome the entire community, so there will also be surprises, exhibitions, among other educational and entertaining activities that will allow the work of various Buenos Aires organizations to be showcased. In addition, concessionaire 1 of Valparaíso will delimit sites 4 and 5 so that families can enter the port with all security measures. In this way, they will be able to see the operation of the dock gantry cranes, ride the yard equipment and talk with the port terminal staff, who will be able to tell more about the different functions performed in the port.

As every year, a space will be available at the Muelle Prat between 10:00 and 13:00, which does not require prior registration. Those who wish to enter the Terminal must register in advance using a form available on the TPS website, www.tps.cl, because spaces are limited.

Laura Chiuminatto, TPS Sustainability Deputy Manager, He commented that “It is a pride to open the doors of our Terminal so that families from Valparaíso and visitors can learn about and see what we do all year round, and also understand in detail the work and importance of the public and private organizations in Valparaíso that make up the logistics chain and the neighborhood. This is a very big effort that we are making with a dozen organizations linked to the activity of the port, so we invite everyone to participate that day and sign up as soon as possible because we have limited spaces.”

To date, the “Know Your Port” has allowed more than two thousand people to participate since it debuted in 2021. The initiative has had the collaboration of TPS, Empresa Portuaria Valparaíso, Ultraport, the National Customs Service, the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG), the Regional Corporation of Tourism of Valparaíso, Ganamar, the Volunteer Corps of the Valparaíso Lifeboat, Institute of Work Safety (IST), the La Matriz Corporation, the Valparaíso Fire Department, Palacio Baburizza, Sitrans, Puerto Valparaíso Terminal and the Maritime League . In addition, for this year the Mascarona Foundation and Sociber join.
