The Colombian national team qualified for the quarterfinals of the Copa América after beating Costa Rica in a match that was gradually being worked on. After Luis Díaz’s first goal in the first half, Dávinson Sánchez and Jhon Córdoba appeared to score the second and third goals of the match, respectively.

At 28 minutes, John Córdoba went to fight for a ball inside the area, in a duel with the defender, the goalkeeper appeared and collided with the Colombian forward. The referee did not hesitate to call a penalty, he took a few seconds while the VAR reviewed it, but there was no doubt.

When everyone thought that James Rodríguez was going to take the ball, it was Luis Díaz who took possession of the ball. The Liverpool player stared at the goalkeeper, deceived him with the gesture and charged with his right foot the left post of the Costa Rica goalkeeper who launched himself to the other side.
