Santiago de Cali, June 28, 2024

He ‘beak and plate’ for the second half of 2024 begins the July 2nd (taking into account that the 1st is a holiday) and extends to the December 31. The big news, compared to the first half of the calendar, is that is reduced by one hour of the measure, which will go from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, taking as reference the last digit of the plate.

This was established by the District Mobility Secretariat, when presenting the decree through which temporary measures are adopted for the better regulation of motor vehicle traffic on public and private roads open to the public in the Special, Sports, Cultural, Tourist, Business and Services District of Santiago de Cali.

The measure applies to vehicles that enter and/or leave the urban perimeter of the Santiago de Cali District, to and from the rest of the country.

“The only change in this ‘pico y placa’ is the schedule, which will be from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm. The people who do not have restrictions will be the same: vehicles of more than five (5) tons of cargo; those vehicles that are hybrids and others contained in the decree. We invite you to read the official document.”said Wilmer Tabares, Secretary of Mobility of Cali.

Pedagogy and sanctions

The first week, from July 2 to 5, will be pedagogical with the aim of making it easier for Cali residents to adapt to the rotation. From Monday, July 8thsanctions begin for non-compliance with the measure.

The sanction corresponds to 15 current minimum daily wages (SMDV), equivalent to 650,000 pesos. In this case, they can access a 50% discount.
