With 80% progress in the works that will allow nearly 500 children and young people from Neiva’s Commune One to access educational services in safe and comfortable conditions, the construction of the primary school in the sector is moving forward.
The project that began its execution in 2019 and that presented multiple difficulties that kept it in a state of suspension, was finally resumed and its construction is about to conclude.
In the work in which 5.7 billion pesos were invested, 16 classrooms are built, of which 3 are multipurpose, in addition to the school cafeteria, kitchen, technical room, porter’s office and a laboratory among others.
A visit by officials from the Neiva mayor’s office and councillors confirmed that the work is progressing according to the last agreed schedule and that they hope to receive it in August of the previous year.
Although the project can finally be concluded and serve the community, the control entities maintain active fiscal and judicial investigations due to the alleged irregularities in the initial phase that delayed it for more than four years.
