CORE of Tarapacá approves $3.7 billion for equipment for the Regional Hospital of Iquique

The Tarapacá Regional Council approved financing of $3.7 billion to equip the Iquique Regional Hospital, through two projects presented by the Tarapacá Health Service.

This investment is part of an urgent need to renew and update the hospital’s medical equipment, which will significantly improve the quality of care for critical patients and optimize medical procedures.

The director of the Tarapacá Health Service, María Paz Iturriaga, explained that this situation is a priority. “We would not come to the council if this were not really necessary, these are equipment that will replace equipment from the adult ICU of the Hospital.”

For his part, Governor José Miguel Carvajal highlighted the approval of these funds, which will go directly to replacing the equipment needed to improve health in the only highly complex facility in the region.

The first project, “Replacement and Acquisition of Equipment and Equipment for the Iquique Adult Critical Patient Unit,” will provide the hospital with 10 procedure carts, 154 oxygenation equipment, 45 electric beds, 26 vital signs monitors, 15 electroscalpels, and other advanced equipment .

The second project, “Acquisition of Equipment for the Medical Transfusion Unit (UTM) of the Iquique Regional Hospital,” will improve the capacity of the hospital’s Blood Bank. These initiatives seek to strengthen the main healthcare facility in the region.
