The Government of Córdoba declares a yellow alert in the hospital network due to the National Porro Festival

The Government of Córdoba has declared a yellow alert in the hospital network of the department in the framework of the National Porro Festival, which will be held from today until Sunday, June 30. This measure, implemented through the Secretariat of Health Development, seeks to guarantee a timely response to any eventuality during the festivities.

The yellow alert came into effect at 6:00 pm yesterday and will extend until 6:00 am on Monday, July 1, 2024. The Secretary of Health Development, Carlos Vasco Álvarez, explained that the festival, held in the municipality of San Pelayo, attracts numerous Cordobans and visitors, which significantly increases the mobilization of people and vehicles in the territory. “This in turn generates an increase in the risk of accidents and the occurrence of other adverse events,” said Vasco Álvarez.

During the alert period, Health Service Providing Institutions (IPS) are obliged to activate their Hospital Emergency Plans and must report any eventuality immediately. Reports can be sent to the email [email protected] or through the mobile lines 3182826134 and 3215763789, as well as the landline 6047955824, available 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday.

This preventive measure seeks to ensure that the hospital network is prepared to handle any type of emergency that may arise during the festivities. The National Porro Festival is an important cultural event that brings together thousands of people to enjoy music and local traditions, but it also implies an increase in the demand for health services due to possible accidents or adverse situations related to the increase in activities and trips.
