A 20-year-old young man died on the road from Sibaté to Soacha when he was travelling on a motorcycle and suffered a serious accident in which members of a group of motorcyclists were involved.

Karen Martínez, the victim of the accident, fell to the pavement at 12:38 am this Friday, June 28, as captured in a video from a camera from another car that was passing by.

She was hit by several motorcyclists who were doing one of their so-called rolls. The impact caused serious injuries that caused his death.

Her family has remembered her as a fighting woman, after she had overcome cancer. “Some reckless, inhumane people come, run over her and leave her lying around as if she were a little animal in the street. That’s not fair!” Liz Martínez, her aunt, said to Citytv.

11 motorcyclists participated in the ride, this was confirmed by Óscar Villamarín, the lawyer who represents four of them.

“Those involved in the accident themselves are three people. They are not the 11 as they are calling it,” he explained in Citytv.

The drivers involved have already appeared before the Prosecutor’s Office to answer for what happened.. However, according to the lawyer, the procedure had to be postponed.

“There was no prosecutor, so they told us that until Tuesday. But, later they corroborated, and the Prosecutor’s Office summoned us for tomorrow (Saturday) to try to speed up the investigation and clarify the facts,” he said.

In addition, he stated that the group of motorcyclists has received intimidating messages: “They are being threatened by social networks. They are isolated. They are good guys, students, workers, their image is being damaged by social networks because they are involving them all in the accident. , the whole group, when that is not the case.

Attorney Villamarín also expressed his condolences to Karen’s family.

For its part, Andrés Martínez, the girl’s father, hopes that the investigations will advance to establish the responsibility of those involved: “The full weight of the law.”
