The training sessions were attended by teachers, directors of local schools, kinesiologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, nurses and representatives of the Magallanes Lions Club.

The Adapted Sports and Exercise Unit (UEDA) of Teletón Aysén organized the 2024 Regional Seminar on School Inclusion in the Magallanes region. The training talks were given by teachers Daniel Pedreros and Cristian Cherif, who shared their knowledge with 170 attendees.

The seminar was aimed at teachers, school principals, kinesiologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, nurses and representatives of the Magallanes Lions Club, who, during two days of training, had the opportunity to learn about and deepen concepts such as inclusion, motor pathologies, cerebral palsy, motor skills and early stimulation, ergonomics and load management, functional adaptation of recreational and play activities, as well as discussion tables on educational inclusion, regional reality, universal accessibility and learning barriers.

Daniel Pedreros, coordinator of Teletón Aysén’s UEDA and organizer of this seminar, highlighted the relevance and scope of these training sessions for the entire educational community of Magallanes, where the main objective was to provide tools for school inclusion.

“It was an experience full of emotions and knowledge. We all came out renewed and with new goals after completing these days of theory and practice. I am left with a beautiful memory in my heart for the warm welcome we received as an institution, so much so that we already have a new invitation for the month of October,” said Daniel Pedreros.

The local community welcomed and appreciated the training sessions that were established as a an important milestone for inclusion in Magallanes, planting a seed for future collaborations and improvements in the quality of life of people with disabilities.

Erwin Mansilla, director of the Baudilia Avendaño de Yousuff School, in Puerto Natales, highlighted the pride they felt in hosting this seminar. “We saw this training as an opportunity to reaffirm the call of our establishment with inclusion, every day, at all times and in all the activities of our school,” he indicated.

Without a doubt, these were two days of learning and shared knowledge that the 10 attendees of the seminar will be able to treasure and apply in educational, social and family settings.
