During the previous day, around 450 people from the LGTBIQ+ community along with their family and friends participated in a march in Neiva that was called in coordination with different social organizations. It started from the Convention Center and ended at Parque Santander, downtown.
There was also a cultural club and ventures from other municipalities. In general, it was a “very important and significant” event, stressed councilor Humberto Perdomo (Historical Pact). And he explained that “it becomes a form of social expression and, above all, of positioning the various forms of violence, discrimination and prejudice that the sexually diverse population experiences.”
He denied that homicides due to homophobia continue to occur. In the country there were also ‘rivers’ of people in the main capitals, on the occasion of the LGTBIQ+ pride march.
