James Rodríguez once again guided the Colombian National Team to its second victory in the 2024 Copa América in the United States. He repeated the great performance he had against Paraguay and this Friday was key to beating Costa Rica in Glendale, Arizona. Playing loose behind the number nine, sometimes playing inside or going to the sides, the ’10’ was one of the best in the game along with Jhon Córdoba and Luis Díaz.
After the Colombian exhibition in this second date of group D and the early qualification to the quarterfinals, James spoke to DSports and expressed his satisfaction with what he did in the 90 minutes. He leaves happy and with his mission of qualifying and making his teammates play well accomplished.
“It was an excellent match against a very defensive opponent and I am happy because the first step was taken,” James said before going into the locker room. The captain is having a good Copa América despite arriving without rhythm from Brazil, he had few minutes in the season with Sao Paulo.
