The public order situation that has existed for several months in the municipality of Fundación, Magdalena, remains critical.
The relentless crime left two people dead in less than six hours on Friday, including a lawyer.
The most recent case had incidents in the San Nicolás neighborhood where the jurist identified as Julio Berrio Lara, 44 years old, known as ‘El Negro’, was attacked by two unknown men who were traveling on a motorcycle whose grill behind locating him gave him bullet wounds that left him on the floor badly injured and in a state of unconsciousness.
He was helped and taken without loss of time to the emergency room of the San Cristóbal hospital where he was admitted without vital signs.
“The patient was admitted without vital signs, but despite this he was subjected to resuscitation efforts, but unfortunately he did not react,” said a member of the medical team that assisted him.
They killed him on the terrace
Hours before, another alteration had occurred to the tranquility that reigned for several days in ‘La Esquina del Progreso’. In this first incident, Juan Carlos Flórez, 61, was shot dead by unknown motorized men.
He was attacked on the terrace of his house while sitting in the chair where he was resting after returning from running some personal errands.
It was learned that the gunmen arrived there on the motorcycle from which the passenger got off and approached him, took out a nine millimeter caliber pistol with which he shot him and ended his life instantly.
The investigations
In light of these two criminal acts that once again generated panic among the inhabitants, the Police Command of the Magdalena Department, through the Sijín units assigned to the population, began the relevant investigations to clarify the case and determine the identity and whereabouts of those responsible.
