Having become the head of the campaign of the illiterate Delfina Gómez, the PRI Governor (?) Alfredo del Mazo summoned the most important operators of the campaign of Alejandra del Moral, candidate of the Va Por México alliance for the Mexican government a few days ago . The operators attending this meeting – about which this column had records and details – are considered the heads of the key municipalities of the State of Mexico. Some assimilated the proposal -indecorous and unworthy-, by the still Governor. Others flatly rejected it, repudiating Del Mazo’s surrender to AMLO, Delfina and Morena, in exchange, surely, for some political position or judicial protection for his large estate.
We are going to give them all the resources they need. Make your people, like you, work in favor of Delfina… -, was part of Del Mazo’s message to PRI operators of the campaign of the candidate of the Va Por México alliance.
But Del Mazo went much further.
It went so far as to make a personal insult against Alejandra del Moral, whom, according to the version of those attending the private meeting, he described as a “silly girl.”

That is to say: Governor Alfredo del Mazo, shameful heir to the Del Mazo dynasty and the powerful Atlacomulco Group, continues to operate in favor of Delfina Gómez. And he does it openly and even shamelessly, without any political ethics or personal modesty. In practice, he has become Delfina’s campaign manager. Seeing is believing.
Alfredo del Mazo’s betrayal against the PRI, the party to which his grandfather and father and their lineage owe everything, including the enormous wealth they enjoy, is undeniable. He has set himself up as a vulgar propagandist for Delfina, without caring what happens with Alejandra del Moral. The only priority for Del Mazo is his political future in the short term. What a shameless guy.

Even more: Sheinbaum did not deny this possibility – as long as he wins the Presidency in 2024, of course – and even publicly praised the Mexican Governor, describing the relationship between the two as “very good”. Known and confirmed the treason of Alfredo del Mazo against the PRI in Edomex, the obligatory question is: What will Alejandra del Moral do now that she knows that she fights only with a handful of real allies, and with the dagger in her back nailed by Del Mazo and one other PRI operator?
Del Moral’s performance during the public debate against Delfina Gómez was acceptable. There were moments in which he beat up the increasingly ignorant and limited Delfina, who miraculously manages to articulate two continuous sentences. Del Moral did not dismiss Delfina as corrupt, ignorant, manipulable and incapable. And it is. Delfina will always have the legend “Electoral Delinquent” tattooed on her forehead, for having extorted the workers of the municipality of Texcoco when she was Municipal President, for the benefit of the Morena campaigns.
“It wasn’t me, it was the party…” Delfina stammered when Del Moral broke out his acts of corruption in Texcoco. It was a shameful, emphatic confession.
But Alejandra del Moral will have to do much more to come back and win the governorship of Edomex. To do?
Disengage, completely, from Alfredo del Mazo; make important decisions only with her 100-proven loyalists, because she is surrounded by traitors; relaunch new proposals, such as offering to reopen the support centers for single mothers that Morena closed; insist on the corruption and disgrace that a triumph for Delfina would mean for the people of Mexico, which would be equivalent to the disappearance of the Mexican electoral institute, transparency organizations, trusts in support of the population, etc.
Alejandra del Moral must understand that Del Mazo has already betrayed her, and that she must trust the PAN more than the Mazista wing of the PRI.

Much is at stake in Edomex. If Morena wins, institutionalized extortion, lack of transparency, looting and corruption will end up entrenched in the entity.
Edomex is the prelude to the 2024 presidential election.
And Del Mazo has betrayed the PRI. Definitely.
