Magdalena Mucutuy, Herman Mendoza and the pilot Hernando Murcia Morales are the names of the people who died in the spectacular accident that has the attention of the entire country.
The plane, which was carrying seven occupants, three adults and four children, crashed in the jungle and was missing for two weeks. Authorities confirmed that all three adults had died and that everything would indicate that the four minors were still alive.
Magdalena Mucutuy was the mother of the four children who are wanted in the jungle: Lesly Mucutuy (13 years old), Soleiny Mucutuy (9 years old), Tien Noriel Ranoque Mucutuy (4 years old) and Cristin Neriman Ranoque Mucutuy (11 months).

According to a message of condolences from OPIAC, an indigenous institution that exercises political and cultural representation of the Indigenous Peoples of the Colombian Amazon, Magdalena, an indigenous Muinane, belonged to the Puerto Sábalo communityfour hours by boat from Puerto Santander, Amazonas, and spoke the Witoto language.

As EL TIEMPO learned, MAgdalena was the wife of Manuel Ranoque, a relative of the indigenous governor of that area and who he had to leave his community due to the constant threats that groups outside the law were making to his family.
In fact, Manuel Ranoque undertook a trip to reach Bogotá to work and give his wife and children the money to meet again. After a month and a half, on May 1, the Ranoque Mucutuy family obtained the full money to travel.

Magdalena Mucutuy lived many years ago in Puerto Sábalo. Fatima, mother of the deceased, told EL TIEMPO that Magdalena had been in the mountains for a long time and she does not know in what conditions her body will be delivered.
“I am waiting for the body of the children’s mother. She had been in the mountains for a long time. I am waiting for her. God is great and will bring the children alive,” Fatima said.
