Every May 4th is special for Star Wars fans since the day of said franchise is celebrated. If you are a follower of this galactic universe, you must surely know the locations where its movies and series have been recorded. But did you know that there is a chance that they were filmed very close to your house?

CineMapper is an application very similar to Google Maps. Only instead of giving directions, it shows you the exact location of where Star Wars and other movies and series have been filmed.

CineMapper is a website created for movie lovers to explore the real-world locations where their favorite movies and series were filmed. It’s like a Google Maps of the cinema, but instead of showing you restaurants or stores, it shows you where scenes from movies like Return of the Jedi or The Last Jedi were filmed.

To use Cine Mapper, you just have to go to their website. You can explore the site in two ways:

– Write the movie, series or location of your choice in the search engine.

– Navigate through the map as you find pins scattered around the world. Those from Star Wars are represented by Darth Vader.

Thanks to CineMapper you can identify some Star Wars locations such as:

– Episode IV A New Hope: In Tikal, Guatemala, the Rebel base on Yavin IV was recorded.

– Episode VIII The Last Jedi: A key battle between the First Order and the Resistance was filmed in Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia, where AT-AT-like walking tanks slowly advance towards entrenched rebel fighters.
