Francis Ford Coppola’s epic futuristic production is raising great expectations

‘Megalopolis’ is generating an interest that Marvel movies would already want for themselves. Now it arrives, a few days after Coppola described the content of the film in a little more detail, the first teaser. In it we can taste something of the aesthetics of the production, very far from the realism of his other works, where we see Adam Driver stopping time on the roof of a skyscraper, making it clear that the impressive and crowded city that gives the film its title film will have an absolute role.

The film tells the story of a young architect played by Driver, who wants to rebuild an immense futuristic city after a cataclysm, making it sustainable and habitable. Nathalie Emmanuel, whom we have also seen in the first published image of the film, is the high society daughter of the protagonist’s nemesis, a corrupt veteran mayor played by Giancarlo Esposito. The film portrays her raw confrontation, with Emmanuel trapped between both worlds and unwilling to betray either her father or her lover.
