‘Barbarian’ premiered on Disney+ two years ago and automatically became one of the best horror movies of 2022. Well, now just arrived on Netflix, so there are more options to see it in Spanish. This is a very uncomfortable film for the viewer, as it crosses several stories that come together in the basement of a house located in what seems to be a quiet neighborhood.
In ‘Barbarian’, a woman who has a job interview in Detroit decides to rent a house to spend a couple of nights. To your surprise, upon arriving and following the tenant’s instructions to access, discovers that there is someone else living in the housebecause there are signs that a person—or several—are living a normal life there.
It is the starting point of several stories that intersect and end up finding something in common: the basement of the house in question. Because when you rent or buy a home you can face unexpected problems such as a cistern that doesn’t work, a plug that doesn’t have electricity… Although none of that is even remotely close to the real problem of this house…
