Netflix premieres next month The Imaginariesthe new anime feature film from Studio Ponoc, formed by former Studio Ghibli animators.
As is already the case with the filmography of Studio Ghibli, Netflix has all of Studio Ponoc’s films exclusively in its catalog through its subscription service. Therefore, the company’s new premiere, The imaginary oneswill also land for the first time on the platform.
It makes sense that Netflix is committed to strengthening its catalog of anime with the feature films of both studios, since Studio Ponoc is made up of people who worked at Studio Ghibli and emancipated themselves from the company to create their own, giving birth to projects such as: Mary and the witch’s flower (2017) or humble heroes (2018).
After going through a tortuous production, Studio Ponoc finally has Netflix release date and trailer in English of The imaginary oneshis new film based on the novel of the same name by A.F. Harold.
The film has already been released in Japan under the title Yaneura no Rudger in December of last year, although he did so without much success. Now it reaches the West without going through the theaters, directly to the catalog of Netflixwho will receive her with open arms the next day July 5th.

The imaginary ones by Studio Ponoc will tell us an adventure about a girl named Amanda who will have an imaginary friend that no one else will be able to see. But one day, her friend will separate from her arriving in the city of forgotten imaginaries, where she will have to prevent the evil Mr. Bunting from catching him and making Amanda forget about him forever.
