In 2006 Paramount Pictures fired Tom Cruise from the Mission Impossible saga, due to problems with the actor’s attitude.
That year the movie Mission Impossible III hit theaters, and the production company decided to cut ties with the performer. However, Cruise returned to stay in the saga that already has seven installments.
That same year, Paramount CEO Sumner Redstone spoke about what happened to the Wall Street Journal. “We don’t believe that someone who commits creative suicide and costs the company money should be on the lot. His recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount. He has never behaved this way before, he really crossed the line,” the producer said.

Mission: Impossible III had a budget of $150 million and grossed more than $398 million worldwide. It doubled the price of what it cost, yes, but the studio expected much more.
Cruise won a Golden Globe
Redstone, of course, was not happy and blamed Cruise’s behavior, since the actor caused controversy by supporting Scientology and by acting strangely on Oprah Winfrey’s television show.
However, the actor hired a new publicist and moved away from major film productions. He starred in dramatic titles such as “Lions for Lambs” (2007) and “Operation Valkyrie” (2008). But the film that took him back to the top was “Tropic Thunder” (2008).

His performance received a Golden Globe nomination and Paramount called him back, Sensacine reviews.
Cruise returned in the fourth installment of the action and espionage saga and JJ Abrams, director of Mission Impossible 3, became his ally.
The story of the spy Ethan Hunt already has seven installments and Mission Impossible 8 is expected to hit theaters.
