James Gunn said it was a character from his new DCU and that’s how it will be

I am the guy who will tell you all the latest news in film and television in 3DJuegos. I am passionate about science fiction, fantasy, superheroes and movie curiosities, those little behind-the-scenes stories of the directors and actors we have been following since we were little. My favorite saga? Star Trek. My favorite character? Superman, although lately a little more John Wick. One last thing, I promise not to bore you too much in my topics. LinkedIn

James Gunn was always very clear on the subject: Blue Beetle was not a movie from your DCU but its protagonist was going to have his place in this new universe of superheroes. Now, it is reported that Warner Bros. is working on giving some continuity to the character with a new animated series.

The details of the project are rather scarce, but Deadline understands that, in principle, the idea behind this program is to create a new story for the character that we saw on the big screen last summer. Whether this could be used for a new film of the character is unknown.

That is, it will not be a reboot, but they will use the character to tell a new plot that, we assume, will be better inserted in James Gunn’s universe. For now, the only thing that is clear is that the fiction began to take shape at the beginning of this year and will have Angel Manuel Soto and Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, director and screenwriters of the film, as executive producers. No release date has been given.

A failure at the box office

Blue Beetle told in theaters the story of Jaime Reyes, a young man who, returning home, will unexpectedly find himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology, the Beetle, which will turn him into a superhero. The movie raised $130.8 million with a budget of 104 million dollars, but it did not displease either the press or the viewers excessively.

If you are interested in watching it, you can do so from Max (formerly HBO Max) currently and discover one of the many references that the film includes.

In 3DGames | “It’s the worst idea I’ve ever heard”; It seems impossible, but at first Spider-Man was rejected by Marvel and we were almost left without this comic book icon.

In 3DGames | I have seen the first three episodes of The Boys | Season 4 and the superhero series is still brutal and grotesque, but its plots are already faltering
