There weren’t many, but the Marvel Universe before the official UCM that started with ‘Hombre de Hierro’ (2008) also left us with a handful of films that are worth watching. One of them has in fact been named by Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’) as the best comic book adaptation of all time, and due to its popularity and good reviews it is likely that not many people will disagree with it.
Jackman stars in Reynolds’ favorite
This has been stated by Reynolds, who was asked about the temporal dissonance of ‘Logan’ shortly after the first installment of ‘Deadpool’. “The movies were kind of consistent at the time,” Reynolds has said. “’Deadpool’ was very different, and right after that came ‘Logan,’ which It’s potentially the best comic book adaptation ever made.”.
And ‘Logan’ has a notable 8.1 on IMDB, with James Mangold’s film considered, in fact, one of the best superhero productions in history. With a considerable duration of 2 hours and 17 minutes, and the participation of the Spanish Dafne Keen like Laura/X-23, it was supposed to be Hugh Jackman’s last time donning Wolverine’s claws, but it didn’t take him long to change his mind.
“I was driving, and literally, like a ray of light, this thought came that I wanted to make this movie with Ryan,” Jackman said a few months ago. “I swear, when I said it was over, I really thought it was over, but Ever since I saw ‘Deadpool’ I was like ‘These two characters together’. He knew it, he knew that the fans loved it, and that people were talking about it.”
