“I wrote down a whole list of emotions and, after the first screenings, I had no choice but to simplify and decide which ones are most prevalent at that age.”comments Mann in an interview for Fotogramas, in which he gave the name of some of the emotions that did not make the cut. More than 20 proposals were made, but only a few made it to the final stage of the creative process and those that ended up being left out in the final cut. Pessimism, Surprise, Love, Guilt or Despair or Hope were some of these, in addition to Nostalgia, which did manage to enter even with a brief cameo, since it is not an emotion that Riley could experience at such a young age.
They may have thought that some of them overlapped with others or were simply not appropriate for the Riley story that was intended to be told, but the fact is that these four emotions do not appear in Inside out 2.
