Joseph Quinn has raised fans’ expectations by talking about his preparation to play Johnny Storm in the next MCU Fantastic Four movie.
After becoming the breakout star of the fourth season of Stranger Things Playing the heroic Eddie Munson, Quinn has landed the biggest role of his career as Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, in The Fantastic Four from Marvel Studios.
Quinn’s excitement over a promising script
While promoting A Quiet Place: Day OneQuinn was asked about the status of the project and shared his excitement about getting started, highlighting the quality of the script and the talent of the director.
“I really want to start. The script is incredible. The director is fantastic. The intention behind this is… let’s go for it.”
In a separate interview, Quinn mentioned that he is sometimes asked for spoilers, but those closest to him already know that he won’t give away details. He also commented that he is frequently asked if the cat will survive in Day One.

A stellar cast for the Fantastic Four
Quinn joins an impressive cast that includes Peter Pascal (Game of Thrones, The Last of Us) as Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning) as Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Punisher, The Bear) as Ben Grimm, known as The Thing.
Furthermore, it has been announced that Julia Garner (Ozark) will play a female version of the Silver Surfer, called Shalla-Bal.
A new universe for the Fantastic Four?
Although plot details remain a mystery, a recent rumor suggests that The Fantastic Four They will be set in an alternative universe. If true, this would indicate that the characters will be variants from another part of the Multiverse that will eventually find their way into the main MCU timeline, possibly due to the interdimensional rift caused by Dar-Benn at the end of The Marvels.
Galactus has been confirmed as the main villain, and will be played by Ralph Ineson (The Witch, Game of Thrones).
No more origin stories
Kevin Feige has also confirmed that this film will not be another origin story for the super-team.
“A lot of people know this origin story. Many people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something they’ve never seen before?” he said in a 2022 interview, comparing this new version of the heroes to Marvel Studios’ deal with Sony to bring Spider-Man to the MCU. “We have set a very high bar for ourselves to bring that to the screen.”
A new vision for the Human Torch
Joseph Quinn is more than prepared to bring to life Johnny Storm, a character who, despite his popularity, has had ups and downs in previous adaptations. In the comics, Johnny is known for his bold character and his ability to transform into a Human Torch.
