The eighth installment of the long-running spy franchise starring Tom Cruise is facing problems. In addition to the numerous delays that ‘Mission Impossible 8’ has suffered over the years due to the pandemic and the strike of actors and screenwriters, they now face a worse obstacle: The budget has exceeded 300 million.

Several North American media report that the eventful production has already exceeded this figure due to the notorious problem with a submarine that forced the filming to be halted indefinitely one more time.

Given this increase in budget, the film will have to reach 600 million dollars just to start being profitable (and given what we have seen, it is not easy at all). The challenge is huge and the best example of this is the previous installment, whose approximate cost was 291 million and its collection ended in the 567 million dollars. If then it was already said that that one was not entirely profitable…

When it is released next year, ‘Mission Impossible 8’ will have to raise much more money than any of the previous installmentswith ‘Mission Impossible: Fallout’ being the most successful of the saga to date, it raised a sum of 791 million dollars.

With filming unfinished, the film starring Tom Cruise HE becomes one of the few films that has cost so much, being alongside other Hollywood mega productions such as the films of the new ‘Star Wars’ trilogy, the last three ‘Avengers’ films, the third and fourth installment of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ and the recent ‘Fast X’, or the successful sequel ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’.
