Back in the middle of last September Skid Row postponed his tour “due to utmost concern for the health” of vocalist Erik Grönwall and precisely that aspect seems to have gained importance when announcing the departure of the Swede from the North American band. Lzzy Halesinger of Halestormwill take care of vocal duties in the next scheduled concerts.

The members of Skid Rowfor their part, said in a statement that they are “proud of what they have created and achieved with Erik in the last two years” and “They want nothing but the best for him and his health.”. To celebrate these last two years, the band will release a live album that will perfectly reflect this stage in the band’s more than 35-year history.
The Scandinavian vocalist explained his departure in this way: “I had the opportunity to join this amazing band six months after my leukemia treatment. And a month after that, I was on a world tour with Skid f**** Row. It was a dream come true. However, it was challenging to tour the world with a damaged immune system as a result of my bone marrow transplant. I respect and understand that Skid Row is a touring band, but since I cannot prioritize my health while being in the band, I have decided it is best for me to step aside.”.
Groenwall establishes its priorities today: “I love Skid Row, I have nothing but respect for the guys in the band, but I love and respect my health more. I’m getting stronger and healthier every day, but after consulting my doctor, I need more time to recover, something I can’t do as a Skid Row singer. That is why I have made the difficult decision to move forward.”.
Eric He said goodbye thanking you for the trust placed: “I want to thank the guys for this incredible opportunity. And I want to thank all the Skid Row fans who accepted me as the singer of this iconic band. Health first”.
