Singer Jon Bon Jovi believes that healing his vocal cordsafter undergoing surgery, “depends on God.”

In an interview with Fox News Digital ahead of the release of the documentary series “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story,” The rock band’s leader bluntly explained that recovering from vocal cord surgery “is the worst.”

“It sucks,” the “Livin’ on a Prayer” singer said. “But, if I compare it with athletes… when Kobe and the Achilles tendon, or Michael Strahan and the pectoral, Tom Brady with the knee, Tiger Woods preparing for another Masters… it’s not easy for any of them”

“And I know his work ethic and mine are very similar. Nobody anticipates an injury like this. And it depends on God to fix it or not, but I am certainly at the Lord’s side working on it,” the singer said.

Jon Bon Jovi, 62 years old and whose full name is John Francis Bongiovi Jr., underwent throat surgery in 2022 after suffering from atrophy of the vocal cords, recalls the American media.

The band he created, Bon Jovi, celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and, to celebrate, has created the four-part documentary series parts titled “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story,” which will be released April 26.

The singer tells Fox News that he asked his bandmates to contribute to making the documentary: “I thought about how we are going to celebrate this anniversary because there is only one 40th anniversary and who knows where we will be when we are 50,” he added.
