My Dying Bride cancel all their concerts in 2024 and publish a cryptic statement on their networks that leaves nothing clear.

The pioneers of English doom metal, My Dying Bridethey have decided Cancel suddenly all his concerts scheduled for 2024. Having just released their new studio album, “A Mortal Binding”, they have issued an official statement regarding the cancellations.

A cryptic statement

My Dying Bride posted a statement on their networks with the following announcement: «The production of this latest album was arduous and challenging to such an extent that it has revealed fractures within the band. These tensions had already been observed during the creation of the previous two albums and were only exacerbated during the Covid period. In recent months, they have intensified, causing a deep sense of discontent among the band members. The resulting stress and general feeling of exhaustion, along with the physical and mental discomfort it creates, made a period of rest necessary, which, unfortunately, affects live shows,” they explained.

«The reason for the lack of an official statement until now is because the band was really hoping to resolve these internal issues and play some shows this year while trying to find a resolution in time to satisfy all parties involved. Sadly, this resolution has not yet been found.

“Unfortunately, a lack of understanding and poor communication from our professional partners has resulted in a chaotic and ill-timed mess from which it is difficult to recover. However, the promoters have now been officially contacted and it is hoped that steps can be taken to minimize the impact on you all.

“We apologize for keeping you in the dark, but these are indeed difficult times.”

Problems within My Dying Bride

In a recent interview with This Day In Metal’s Lindsay C, My Dying Bride guitarist Andrew Craighan stated about the 2024 concert cancellations: “Well, first of all, Maryland Deathfest shouldn’t have said what they said in a statement. announcing MY DYING BRIDE’s withdrawal from the event, and they know it and have already apologized, although privately.

«We have some live problems, we are — how to put it? — managing, I would say. They are not insurmountable. I don’t have all the facts yet, which means I don’t want to talk too much. But we are in conversations with everyone who has the facts, and we will issue a statement, basically, that will explain or at least calm people down about what is happening.

“Everything is a little strange right now, so it’s hard to talk about it, mainly because I don’t want to say something inappropriate and then everything you say will be used against you and all that,” he added.

The follow-up to 2019’s “The Ghost Of Orion,” “A Mortal Binding” came out on April 19 via Nuclear Blast Records.
