It’s a green BC Rich Stealth from the mid 90s.
The nephew of Chuck Schuldiner of DEATHChris Steele, recently put up for auction on eBay the BC Rich Stealth guitar emerald green of the musician. Steele has sold the instrument for $31,300.
Steele posted in his ad that he was selling the Death Metal pioneer’s guitar “due to Exceptional circumstances“.
Schuldiner’s nephew published this message about the sale:
“Up for auction is Chuck Schuldiner’s guitar, made in the USA, custom workshop, emerald green BC Rich Stealth. I would date the guitar between mid and late nineties because some BC Richs left the custom workshop without a serial number, this being one of them.
It is in absolutely extraordinary condition, Chuck never took it on tour but did use it in the studio from time to time.. It’s exactly how Chuck left it, apart from a new knob and knob. Chuck removed the knob at some point and never replaced it.
I also include the original potentiometer for its historical value. It is properly strung with 10 gauge GHS Boomers. I provide a custom COA upon close of auction and payment. If shipped overseas I will remove the strings to preserve the integrity of the neck. Good luck and happy bidding.”
Charles Michael Chuck Schuldiner (May 13, 1967, Long Island, New York, United States – December 13, 2001) died from a brain tumor. The American artist was a guitarist, singer, songwriter and founder of DEATH and DENIED CONTROL and was one of the key figures in the development of Death Metal.
He formed his first group in 1983, MANTAS, a band that later became DEATH, debuting in 1987 with the classic “Scream Bloody Gore“, which was followed by numerous successful and fundamental albums for Extreme Metal.
Schuldiner regularly used guitars BC Richespecially the model Stealth (like the auctioned instrument), although he also used Jackson Warrior guitars.
