A cradle of heavy metal like the city of Birmingham has many incentives to be visited by the rock and metal audience and two of them are related to Ozzy Osbourne. On the one hand we have the bull “Ozzy” with its ten meters high in front of the New Street Stationand on the other there is the famous Black Sabbath bankof which the Madman is clear that he will go see him no matter what the cost: “Even if it’s dragging me.”

A recent video created by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne as a thank you to those responsible for the creation and maintenance of the bank of Broad Street, Westside Business Improvement Districtwith Mike Olley as general manager, podcast style The Osbournesshows us the couple talking about this great tribute that Ozzy describes as “a great recognition”highlighting that in Black Sabbath “We all come from Birmingham, Aston, specifically. “I don’t know how to thank him enough.”

The legendary vocalist responds with a double “never” to the question if he would have ever imagined having something similar in his city. “It’s fantastic”Ozzy continues before his wife and manager comments on the bank’s success among Black Sabbath fans: “It’s become a tourist attraction, because people come and sit and take photos with any Black Sabbath member they want.”. Ozzy does not hide his excitement: “Wow! It’s really cool, it’s really cool.”

The question about when Ozzy will go to see the bank has a direct answer: “When I go to see the bull!” Sharon explains that they are going to spend the day in Birmingham and Ozzy ups the ante: “Of course. A couple of days. There are some very nice charming hotels there”. And that’s when she talks about “have a beer” the moment when his wife takes the reins, laughing: “Oh, the beer! You’re not having beer, Ozzy, no beer! Water for you!”

The definitive answer comes when Sharon asks her husband when he will go to Birmingham: “Even if I have to crawl, I’m going to be there. I’ll be there very soon.”

The video closes with the couple’s thanks to Mike Olley. Sharon begins: “We want to thank Mike Olley for making it possible” and Ozzy signs these words: “Thank you, Mike. Thank you so much. What can I say. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

The response from Olley was immediate, and he accompanied the publication of the video with this message: “What a fantastic gesture by Ozzy and Sharon to record this short video for Westside BID as a token of their gratitude for the bank. We were delighted to receive it and are now happy to send it out for the world to see. The memory and responses of Ozzy on Aston seem crystal clear, and it’s been great to see his obvious affection for the bank.”

Strictly musical, Ozzy Osbourne’s solo career has received the great recognition that will lead the Prince of Darkness to enter the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame for the second timeof which he was already a member along with his colleagues from Black Sabbath, and to which he now joins due to the merit of the more than forty years of successful solo career that has survived to this day.
