This Tuesday, April 30 The Upar Awards will be delivered in Valledupar, the most important awards in folklore and the vallenato industry.
The ceremony will take place at the Crispín Villazón de Armas Convention Center and this Wednesday, April 24, the names of the drivers of the awards were announced.
For the second time in a row the presenter Laura Tobón will be in charge of hosting the gala, accompanied by Frank Solano.
Laura is a social communicator with an emphasis in journalism, from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. She was a presenter at the Upar Awards in 2023, along with Carlos Calero. For his part, the guajiro Frank Solano, has a master’s degree in Cultural Management and Audiovisual Production, from the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University.
This year the character is teacher Alfredo Gutiérrezwho will receive the statuette as the foundation’s 2024 honoree.
“This tribute to Alfredo Gutiérrez is more than deserved; Over the years he has left a legacy and has taken our culture nationally and internationally. For us it is very satisfying to have him as our 2024 character,” said Jesús Eduardo Vargas Oñate, co-founder of Upar Awards.
