Barbara Kolvek was Swift’s music teacher from first to fourth grade at Wyndcroft School in Pottstown.
In dialogue with CBS Newsthe teacher who is now retired said that at that time the singer stood out for constantly writing poetry in class, even though she had to do other activities.
“She always wrote poetry, always. Even in music class, even when she shouldn’t have,” Kolvek explained.

“Each student has a special quality. And you always remember each student for the quality she has. Taylor’s quality was simply being one of those students that people just gravitated towards.”said the teacher.
Brown has decided to send Christmas cards to Swift every year, although she’s not entirely sure if she receives them. “I write letters to her and congratulate her,” she said.
The two teachers suggested to the American media that they are very proud of the musical icon that Swift has become today.
“Everything he touches turns to gold. And I’m very excited to see what comes next. When she comes out on stage and everyone yells ‘Taylor,’ it’s like ‘Oh my God, I was her teacher!’” Brown confessed.
Kolvek, for his part, assured that despite fame the artist has never lost her essence or who she really is. “She has always been very honest and open and I admire that about her,” he said.
