The Heavy Metal group releases the first preview of the album
Swedish Heavy Metal band HAMMERFALL have announced their 13th studio album. His name is “Avenge The Fallen“. Nuclear Blast will release the successor to “Hammer Of Dawn” August 9, 2024.
“How can you still be important after 13 albums?” asks the singer Joacim Cans. “It’s a lot like the first line of the song ‘Avenge The Fallen’: ‘What’s worse? Being the one who died or being the one who survived.’ Think about it, because it’s a tough question.”
“Do we want to be a band that releases new music just for the sole reason of going on tour again or do we want to keep pushing and challenging ourselves?” the vocalist asks. “In times when people increasingly have less attention spanstill we think about complete albums. A few good songs don’t make a strong album. “A strong album comes from being full of great songs and that’s what we’re delivering with ‘Avenge The Fallen.'”

The guitarist Oscar Dronjak indicates:
“I started working on ‘Hail To The King’ while I was touring the US with HELLOWEEN. At the end of the tour, I was close to finishing the song, so immediately after the concert in Los Angeles I headed to the bus where I worked like crazy to put the last parts together. That turned out to be the show that one of my favorite wrestlers came to visit, Chris Jericho [Ndr.: cantante de FOZZY]. It was also the show where Fredrik met his idol Frank Bello from ANTHRAX and Joacim met Jay Ruston, producer of ARMORED SAINT, AVATAR, ANTHRAX, Corey Taylor and more and who after this meeting agreed to produce the vocals for ‘Avenge The Fallen’ . I missed all that, but at least I got a great song out (laughs).”

The group returned in 2023 to Nuclear Blast, the record label where they debuted with the release of “Glory To The Brave” in 1997. The band commented on the signing:
“Went part of the construction of the seal back in the day, starting with our first album. For a long time, we were along for the ride as Nuclear Blast evolved into the immense powerhouse it is today. Although we went out to record three studio albums, we are satisfied with those albums and we thank everyone who worked with us on them, we are very excited to be back where we belong: with Nuclear Blast. “It really is like we have come home.”
