Slipknot give first concert with their new drummer

Slipknot offered their first concert with their new drummer last night, Thursday, April 25. Although they have not officially announced it, the images of the concert seem to confirm that the rumors pointing to former Sepultura Eloy Casagrande as Jay Weinberg’s replacement were true.

The show was held in a small venue, Pappy + Harriet’s in Pioneertow (California) near Joshua Tree Park with a capacity for just 350 people and with tickets priced at $9. Although it was only announced one day in advance, tickets naturally sold out in just a few seconds.

If all that in itself made it special, the band from Iowa surprised their fans by wearing the famous red jumpsuits and elements of the masks that they wore on the tour to present their 1999 self-titled debut, of which they performed five songs.

«Tonight it doesn’t matter where you come from or when you were born»Corey Taylor said from the stage. “This is fucking 1999. We’re going to play some songs beyond that year, but damn, it all started in ’99 and it’s going to start again here tonight.”

All this suggests that Slipknot will soon announce a 25th anniversary tour of the album. Who knows if it could be tomorrow when they perform at the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas.

This has been the setlist:

1. ‘People = Shit’
2. ‘Eyeless’
3. ‘Disasterpiece’
4. ‘Before I Forget’
5. ‘Custer’
6. ‘Psychosocial’
7. ‘The Heretic Anthem’
8. ‘Unsainted’
9. ‘Wait and Bleed’
10. ‘Prosthetics’
11. ‘Vermilion’
12. ‘Duality’
13. ‘Spit It Out’
14. ‘Surfacing’
