On June 13, the British band Bring Me The Horizon announced through their social networks the date that represents their return to Bogotá, after two years, in one of the best moments of their career.
But it is not the only alternative group that will have a stage in the capital of Bogotá in these months.
The presentation of the original Shefield group will take place on December 11 and will be at the Movistar Arena, a stage with a capacity of 14,000 people, which represents a challenge for a group considered in the alternative rock spectrum (they classify it in the metalcore / indie rock subgenres): can it fill it?
Bring Me The Horizon It was presented for the first time in Bogotá, at Knotfest 2022 (the international festival conceived as a franchise by the metal band Slipknot) and at that time it received the best comments from attendees, even representing a more alternative side for the metal audience.
However, Bring Me The Horizon is not the only group representing the recent sounds of global rock that will be coming to town in the coming days.
Clutch, from the United States
On July 24, the American group Clutch will perform in Bogotá on the Ace of Spades stage, which has a long history but also the peculiarity of representing new rock in the United States but from the heritage of the sound of the movement called ‘southern’. rock’, which comes from the 70s, from bands like Lynnyrd Skynyrd, in addition to the ‘stoner rock’ sound, which is closer to metal.
This is one of their most recognized singles, which also has a curious reference to Spanish in its choruses:
Clutch is a quartet that emerged in the state of Maryland and that has been producing material, it is even known that this tour coincides with a new record project that they began writing in April of this year.
The Drums, from New York
This group has been a phenomenon on the alternative circuit since 2008 and was in Bogotá in 2012. Conceived in Brooklyn, it was chosen by the BBC in London in the list of sounds of 2010 and fifth place in the NME lists that same year.
