In the midst of promoting this documentary, a video was published in which Céline Dion was captured suffering severe pain and anguish due to a crisis related to her condition.

Irene Taylor, the director of the documentary, told ‘AP’ that she recorded the episode only because, previously, the singer gave her free rein to capture everything that was necessary for the audiovisual project.

Céline Dion suffers from stiff person syndrome

“She was in the best hands she could be in. If they needed an extra pair of hands I would have dropped my microphone and walked in to help them without a doubt. But I decided to keep filming knowing we didn’t have to use it,” the director said.

Once Dion recovered, he wrapped himself in a towel, sat down and admitted that he was ashamed of what had happened.

“Every time something like this happens it makes you feel very embarrassed and I don’t know how to express it, it’s just, you know, like you have no control over yourself,” the artist explains.

What is stiff person syndrome?

According to the US National Organization for Rare Diseases (NORD), “it is a rare acquired neurological disorder characterized by progressive muscle stiffness (stiffness) and repeated episodes of painful muscle spasms.”
