Victim of a deep economic crisis Necochea Cooperative FM (105.1 Mhz) will close its doors this week, according to reports from the same radio station this morning.

The station’s closure has been in the works for several weeks and each of the programs will gradually be informed about the end of its activities. Unfortunately, the excessive increase in rates, the removal of subsidies and other measures by the government of Javier Milei They prevented the cooperative from continuing to broadcast its programming.

On its social networks, the radio had been announcing that its broadcasts would be carried out by streaming on its website, although finally this Friday it aired on the program La Dosis, hosted by Armando Damianoit was announced that it would be the last program broadcast, giving the signal that confirms the closure of the station.

In recent months, the radio had faced problems in its broadcasts, which led to a more marked online presence, which sought to reach its audience through social networks.

For the past 13 years, FM Cooperativa, managed by the Coomunicaar workers’ cooperative, has represented a communication space that has ignored the commercial logic of traditional media to provide a community information service managed by non-governmental organizations, educational institutions, students and practically any group that wanted to disseminate its non-profit activities.

With the closure of La Cope, the city is left without a communication alternative that was able to give voice to messages and services that do not usually have a place in the city’s commercial media, both at a musical and artistic level and in the content of its programming, aimed at checking information, the educational and training work of alternative media and a social commitment that will remain recorded in the history of the city as a solid precedent for future similar experiences.
