Havana, April 16 – Under the slogan “The city moves”, the day Los Dance Dayswith various stage proposals from various national groups.

He Havana Dance Center makes a good part of its catalog available to the public, especially communities, with the return of Micompañía, Contemporary Dance of Cuba presents a new season of performances; and Dance Theater Retazos returns with another edition of its Festival.

According to the Cubaescena portal, for this reason the Avellaneda and Covarrubias halls of the National Theater reserve their stages to host the event, on the 19th, 20th and 21st; The Hispanic American Cultural Center and the headquarters of the participating companies will also host this dance festival.

Other spaces that join the festivities are the National Dance School, the University of the Arts and the Paseo del Prado.

“The Dance Days constitute a space for exchange between dancers, theorists and the general public…”, stated in a press release the Havana Dance Center, which also reported that exchanges are planned between dance students and figures of the demonstration in Cuba.

Tomorrow, at 7:00 p.m. local time, Micompañia will perform at the Martí Theater in Old Havana with the piece Mondo, in a unique performance as part of the celebrations for the month of Europe, under the direction of the teacher and choreographer Susana Pous.

Led by Miguel Iglesias, Contemporary Dance of Cuba will be on April 26, 27 and 28 in the Avellaneda room of the National Theater, with a two-piece program: Hands On, by the Greek choreographer Yannis Mantsis; and The Tribulation of Anaximander, by George Céspedes.

During those days, the 28th edition of the International Dance Festival in Urban Landscapes will also be held: Habana Vieja Ciudad en Movimiento, an event organized by the Danza Teatro Retazos company and the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana.

In April, Cuba is filled with activities and tributes for International Dance Day, next April 29, a date chosen in tribute to the birth of Jean George Noverre, one of the main figures in the history of universal dance thanks to his contributions to the development of ballet in the 18th century.
