Jibarama, Gibara Environmental Film Festival came to an end, this Saturday, with a gala at the Jibá Cinema.
During this last meeting, the Gibara Scientific Explorations Group received the Jibá Honor Award, just as it is celebrating its 56 years of existence and thanks to its contributions to science in the territory.
The president of the festival’s organizing committee, Juan José Pérez Pérez, stated that the event constitutes one of the traditions of the Gibareño people, hence the importance of never letting it fall, but rather enriching it. He also opened the call for applications for its next edition in 2025.
During the evening, the results of other contests held during the celebration were announced and the cultural presentations were given by the soloist Jan Carlos García Torres and the groups “Alas” and “Vestir Gibara”.
With the presence of the main government officials and the people, this event concluded, which was dedicated to the Ecovalor project and the 65 years of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry.
Convened by the Provincial Film Center, the provincial directorates of Holguín and Municipal Culture in Gibara, the government of Holguín, and the government of Gibara and the Ecovalor Project, it was the perfect occasion to share cinema and nature with the family, from the 24th and until April 27.
